LESSONS OF THE GEESE

  1. When every bird takes flight and flaps its wings, this gives the birds behind it strength to lift up as well. When flying in a V shape, the flock is 71% more able to fly a longer distance than those birds flying alone.

Lesson 1: People who share a common direction and the sense of community are able to reach their goal faster and easier because they move with the energy of others.

  1. If a goose falls out of the flock, it automatically feels deceleration and wind resistance from the attempt of flying alone and returns back into the flock immediately to use the advantage of the strength from the other birds flying in front of it.

Lesson 2: If our minds are not any less than that of geese than we will hold together with those who are going in the same direction as we are (and agree to accept their help, but also return help to the others)

  1. When the leading goose becomes tired, it returns to the tail of the flock and another goose takes the lead.

Lesson 3: This means that we take turns to carry out tough problems and share in leadership –  people,  just like geese, depend on one another

  1. Geese that fly in the flock give out signals from behind to encourage the ones who are in front, supporting the speed.

Lesson 4: We need to be sure that our signals from behind encourage our leaders and are not acting otherwise

  1. If one goose in the flock becomes ill or is wounded or is shot, two other geese abandon the flock and accompany it to the ground in order to help and protect it. And they stay with it until it can fly again or dies. Then, they fly away with a different flock or create their own.

Lesson 5: If we had the same minds as geese, we would hold on to each other when we are in a difficult situation and when we are strong.
